Η HAST PRODUCTIONS P.C.

Pharos (the website pharos.hast.gr and the Pharos iPhone app) is a monitoring tool for HÄST's diplomatic desk. Only people an administrator invited have an account. This is what it keeps, why, where and for how long.

Who runs it

HAST PRODUCTIONS P.C. (HÄST), for the Pharos desk. Anything about your data: jacob@hast.gr.

What we keep

  • Account: name, email, role (administrator or user), who invited you, when you last signed in. Your password is never stored, only a cryptographic hash of it (PBKDF2). Failed attempts are counted so the account locks for a while after many.
  • Sign-ins: for each live session, when it started and ends, whether it is the website or the app, and the user agent (the browser, or the app and iOS versions). A security log records sign-ins, sign-outs, wrong passwords, invitations and account changes, with email and time.
  • Your device (app only, if you allow notifications): Apple's push token, the model, iOS and app versions, language and region, and Apple's answer to the last delivery.
  • Notification settings: which levels and kinds you want, quiet hours, preview, and the last alert you saw (for the number on the app icon).
  • Delivery log: which alert went to which device, when, and what Apple answered.
  • Tracking topics: what you write in a topic (title, keywords, countries, note) and your email as its creator. The whole desk sees the topics.
  • On your own device: the website sets one cookie, your session, and keeps the number of the last alert you saw in the browser. The app keeps your session in the Keychain (removed when you sign out) and recent data from the service so it opens quickly.

No location, contacts, photos or advertising identifiers. No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics, on the website or in the app. We do not sell or hand data to anyone for their own use.

Why

  • To sign you in and know who you are and what role you have.
  • To send you the notifications you chose, once per item.
  • For security: locking after wrong passwords, and a record of who changed what in the accounts.
  • To search for the tracking topics you set.

Where

  • The service and its database run on Cloudflare (Workers and D1), on its infrastructure in Europe and worldwide.
  • The website is hosted on Vercel.
  • Notifications reach the iPhone through the Apple Push Notification service (APNs). Apple receives the device token and the notification text; with a hidden preview, only «Pharos: Νέα ειδοποίηση» (new alert) and reference numbers.
  • From a tracking topic, the title, keywords, countries and note go through Anthropic's Claude model to find translations and spellings, and its terms are searched on Google News. When a topic has alerts on, its title appears in the desk's alerts and in the desk's Telegram group. Your email goes to none of these.

How long

  • Sessions: expire after 72 hours on the website and 30 days in the app (renewed while you use it). Signing out deletes them at once; expired ones are deleted by the service.
  • Delivery log: 30 days.
  • Devices: deleted when you sign out on them; otherwise 60 days after their last live session.
  • Account and settings: as long as the account exists.
  • Tracking topics: until someone on the desk deletes them.
  • Security log: not deleted automatically.

Deleting your account

In the app: Λογαριασμός (Account) → Διαγραφή λογαριασμού (Delete account), with your password. Or ask an administrator, or write to jacob@hast.gr. Your account, sessions, invitations, devices, notification settings and delivery log are deleted at once. The tracking topics you created stay (they belong to the desk, with your email as creator), and so do the security log entries, including the one for the deletion. If you are the only administrator, appoint another one first.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, delete, restrict or get a copy of your data, and object to its use, by writing to jacob@hast.gr. You can also turn to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (www.dpa.gr).

When this page changes, so does the date at the top.
